As many of you know, I've been working on this theory for a while. I believe that if a creature exists in the Loch it is a Nothosaur, a marine reptile that lived back in the Triassic period. These creatures are ancestors of the Pleseasarous. Below is a link to a sketch of what a Nothosaur looks like. Tell me what you think.

I know I've explained my theory already, but I want to post it here. One reason why I believe that Nessie is a Nothosaur is because of the size. If there is a creature in the Loch it would have to be a small colony of creatures. Pleseasarous were about twenty to forty feet long. Nothosaurs were only thirteen feet long, which would help the explanation for why they are not seen so much. Plus it is believed that Nothosaurs live their lives like modern day seals, which would help explain the sightings of the creature on land.
Another part of my theory involves the temperature of the Loch. The water of Loch Ness is rather cold, and that could be a major factor in the creature's lifestyle. Cold water holds more oxygen than warmer water. Because of this the creature would use up less oxygen as it swam.
Plus the cold temperature would slow down a reptilian creature's metabolism. Reptiles do not eat much to begin with and a slower metabolism would due to cold water would make it so the creature would not have to eat so much.
And finally the temperature would allow the Loch Ness Monster to hibernate for quite some time. There is a frog in Australia that buries itself in the ground during the dry season. It remains dormant for months, not eating, not drinking, not even breathing. The Loch Ness Monster could do this as well, especially because of the cold water. It could rest at the bottom of the Loch, dormant for months, even years. And this could explain why it is not seen so much.
This is all I have so far. Tell me what you think.
