No wonder why I choose Red for a color. January answers that. Am on the cusp of Aquaiian but my read outs are totally Capricorn. Need to get birthstones for my kids and grandkids!!

Interesting birthstones are. I think the breast necklace of the High Levite priests worn to enter the Holy of the Hollies, Had the equivalent of the Gems of Birthstones upon it, I believe it was called an Ephod or something like that. Certain garments had to be worn or the priest would die upon entering and part of the garments was this big square necklace over the chest full of certain gemstones.

Yup, that's what it was called. Let's hear it for Google for letting me know that - LOL. I Googled EPHOD which lead me to Google SHOHAM STONES. A lot of interesting information. Thanks for bringing that up Dave!

Ahhh I am May And always had a deep affinity for Green hmmmmm....
The interesting thing i know about Birthstones is that for each month i believe there are quite a few other stones that can be used IE In May Green Onyx can also be a birthstone and several others

Yes, there are substitute stones. The ones that I have listed here seem to be the most common ones.

For those interested in gemstones ect. I would recommend 'Love is In the Earth" by Melody. Many stones are used on the breastplates of high priests and priestesses to invoke the power of the stones.

Gemstones are very beautiful stones, cut in different degrees they will have a harmonic resonant to them. Those old priests of ancient world, I do believe had more knowledge of science than our own sciences of today.

I just came across some information that I had tucked away about birthstones and crystals so I figured I would share what I have. I will add the info that I have with what Debbie posts each month, along with random entries for crystals or stones not associated with a specific month or astrological sign. (Since most of these papers were loose, I cannot attribute them to any definitive source, other than that they came from a metaphysical shop in the area...sorry!)

I also came across an entry that stated that if people only have one stone, the quartz crystal is suggested as a good choice:

"The Quartz Crystal is the connection between the physical dimension and the dimensions of the mind. It is said to bring the energies of the Stars to the Soul. It both harmonizes and aligns human energies with the energies of the Universe amd makes these greater energies available to humanity. The natural tendency of quartz is for harmony and is recognized as the "Stone of Power". IF YOU CAN HAVE ONLY ONE STONE CHOOSE THIS ONE!!!!"

I would defer this assessment to Tom on our team since he has more knowledge in these matters than I do...but I can tell you that out of all the dozens of stones and crystals we have in our home, our daughter has a special afinity for my quartz crystals, both tumbled and clusters...and he commented on this as her being a "smart girl", so they've got to be good!
